Specialty Doctor in Microbiology/Infection

Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialty Doctor to join our Microbiology/Infection department.

About the Role

This is a 12-month fixed-term position, with the possibility of extension, covering Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals and associated community services.

The successful candidate will participate in routine clinical work, working alongside four Consultants in Microbiology/Infection and one Clinical Fellow in Microbiology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the routine clinical work of the Microbiology/Infection and Infection Control departments.
  • Develop areas of special interest to complement colleagues within the department.
  • Take on leadership roles, particularly in Laboratory liaison or Antibiotic Stewardship, dependent on interests and experience.
Requirements

Candidates must have full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and at least four years of full-time postgraduate training, with two years in a specialty training programme in Microbiology.

Postgraduate qualifications in Microbiology and experience working in Microbiology, ideally within the NHS, are essential.
