At SMART Education Recruitment, we're seeking a highly skilled Academic Mentor to deliver exceptional one-on-one tutoring sessions for GCSE students in Birmingham. The ideal candidate will possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong passion for helping students excel in Maths and English.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop customized lesson plans and teaching materials tailored to the unique learning needs of each student and aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Regularly assess and monitor student progress, adjusting teaching methods to maximize learning outcomes.
  • Create a positive and engaging learning environment that motivates students to achieve their best.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents or guardians, providing feedback on student progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Keep accurate records of tutoring sessions and student performance.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.
  • Previous experience as a home tutor, particularly at the GCSE level, is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge and expertise in Maths and English; ability to teach additional subjects is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to helping students achieve their academic goals.
