Senior Service Designer

Anson McCade is seeking a highly skilled Senior Service Designer to join a leading consultancy on a public sector end client project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in service design, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and present plans outlining study goals and methodologies.
  • Map complex services and user journeys to generate clear, actionable insights.
  • Use diagramming, journey mapping, storyboarding, or information design to visualize and communicate the complete service and customer experience.
  • Analyze both qualitative and quantitative data to guide design decisions, interpret user behavior, and create actionable recommendations.
  • Synthesize findings using appropriate tools, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to translate insights into user stories.
  • Facilitate workshops and co-design sessions, managing stakeholder relationships at all levels, and articulating complex design concepts through storytelling, evidence, and design artefacts.
  • Deliver actionable insights and learnings to stakeholders via presentations, communicating clearly and confidently to inform strategic decisions and service improvements.
  • Promote user research practices, influence project roadmaps, and advocate for user-centred design principles.
  • Continuously evolve and innovate Service Design and Research practices, incorporating cutting-edge methods from internal and external expertise.
  • Support the development of the practice, ensuring high-quality research services and fostering the growth of the user research community.
Requirements:
  • Must have or be willing to obtain SC clearance.
  • Future-focused, with a curiosity for innovation.
  • 8+ years of experience in Service Design.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field (preferred).
  • Business-fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • Proven experience in managing relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in user-cantered design methods and practices.
  • Experience working as a solo Service Designer.
