About the Role


We are seeking a skilled Band 4 Health Play Specialist to join our team at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality play services to children and young people within our hospitals.


Main Responsibilities



  • To work with children and young people in hospital settings, providing play services to support their physical and emotional well-being.
  • To develop and implement play programs tailored to individual children's needs, encouraging social interaction and promoting a sense of calm and relaxation.
  • To maintain accurate records of play sessions, including progress notes and any relevant observations.
  • To collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.

Requirements



  • Registered qualified Hospital Play Specialist holding the Foundation degree in Healthcare Play Specialism or Edexcel.
  • NNEB/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent training in childcare and development.
  • Experience of working with babies, children, and young people in a hospital setting, including those with special needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
