Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our London, Farnham, or Exeter office. As part of the Accounting Group, the successful candidate will manage the daily operations of the accounting department, monitor and analyze accounting data, and produce financial reports. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities- Manage accounting functions, including month-end and year-end processes, reconciliations, cash receipts, accounts payable, journal entries review and posting, fixed assets, equity, and cash flow forecasting.
- Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports on a consolidated basis and stand-alone basis.
- Assist in producing board report packages and shareholder report packages quarterly.
- Perform variance and trend analysis on financial data to identify issues and/or inefficiencies.
- Coordinate with external auditors to complete year-end financial audits and project audits.
- Design and improve accounting procedures and processes that meet audit standards and improve efficiency.
- Lead financial reviews with operational managers and upper management.
- Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function, when applicable.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- 6+ years or more of related field experience and 1+ supervisory experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Excel.
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and good understanding of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post-offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171.
- Chartered Accountant.
- Master's Degree highly preferred.
- Public accounting experience preferred but not required.
The successful candidate will supervise accounting team members to perform accounting functions and ensure financial data accuracy and integrity, and in compliance with accounting principles, when applicable.
Physical RequirementsSedentary for prolonged periods of time, interact with clients, and travel occasionally.
