Job Title: Robotics Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Robotics Engineer to join our team at Willcox Matthews Ltd. As a Robotics Engineer, you will be responsible for the setup and installation of robots, ensuring all equipment is in working order and promoting good communication within the robotic department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Program robot paths and set up program structure
  • Implement offline programming and provide robotic support and training as required
  • Work on robot drawings and configurations, and read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and specifications
  • Work closely with the Robot Supervisor regarding projects, monitoring workload and deadlines
  • Program, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial robotic systems
  • Develop robot programs using native programming languages

Requirements:
  • Qualified to a minimum HNC level or equivalent in Manufacturing/Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in programming robots (5 years is desirable)
  • Hands-on experience programming robots ABB/Kuka/Fanuc
  • Good understanding of IO, transfer of information between Robot and PLC, and PLC Functionality
  • Good understanding of robot program flow and basic programming theories
  • Knowledge of ISO and ISO robotic safety standards and how they apply
  • Experience in robotic spot welding, mig welding, material handling is required
  • Practical experience and good understanding of electrical circuitry and wiring
  • Sound mechanical ability to work on robot dress packages and peripheral equipment
  • Computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and AutoCAD
