Exciting Opportunity for a SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant

LTF Recruitment is supporting a new 5-19 special needs provision in Harrow, and we are looking for a dedicated SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their team. As a key member of the school community, you will play a vital role in shaping the provision's growth and development.

Your responsibilities will include supporting the class teacher and SENCO with daily tasks, teaching whole classes, groups, and individual lessons, and assessing, recording, and reporting on pupil progress. You will also take the lead in the absence of a class teacher and work closely with the teaching assistant team to ensure a smooth and effective learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher and SENCO with daily tasks and activities
  • Teach whole classes, groups, and individual lessons in consultation with the class teacher
  • Assess, record, and report on pupil progress and attainment
  • Take the lead in the absence of a class teacher
  • Work closely with the teaching assistant team to ensure a smooth and effective learning environment

Requirements:

  • Experience working with SEN pupils
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities
