Job Purpose:

As a Hygiene Technician at Veetee, you will be responsible for ensuring that all machines and external areas of the factory are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation.

Responsibilities:

  • To work as part of a team to maintain the highest standards of visual and microbiological hygiene across all areas of the site.
  • To identify and communicate any difficulties or issues to your hygiene team leader.
  • To check chemical containers are labelled, locked, and lids are attached at all times.
  • To follow all hygiene, food safety, quality, and H&S procedures, as well as company terms and conditions.
  • To achieve a high standard of cleanliness, following set work instructions and safety protocols.
  • To work efficiently and complete additional tasks during quieter periods.
  • To complete related documents and records in a timely and accurate manner.
  • To manually handle goods up to 25kg.
  • To operate cleaning equipment during deep cleaning tasks and wash down machines during scheduled shutdown periods.
  • To clean and tidy external areas of the factory and office buildings.
  • To handle chemicals in accordance with COSHH training and regulations.
  • To comply with the hygiene schedule and existing cleaning instruction cards and SOPs.
  • To undertake all aspects of hygiene in non-operational areas, including toilets, canteen, warehouse, and yard.
  • To perform other duties reasonably regarded as within the nature of the duties and responsibilities of the post.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role in a food manufacturing environment.
  • The ability to work quickly, methodically, and under pressure.
  • Comfortable working in a hot environment, confined space, on heights, and with pest control.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Reliable and willing to work flexibly.
  • Able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
