Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Assistant to join our team at Austin Fraser. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in supporting our customers to maintain their independence and live fulfilling lives.

About the Role:

  • To provide high-quality care and support to customers in their own homes, promoting their dignity and well-being at all times.
  • To assist customers with all aspects of personal care, including bathing, dressing, and mobility.
  • To manage medication administration safely and accurately, following established protocols.
  • To prepare healthy meals and snacks, taking into account any dietary requirements or restrictions.
  • To support customers with home management tasks, such as cleaning and laundry.
  • To maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring that customer information is up-to-date and secure.
  • To work collaboratively with other care professionals, sharing knowledge and expertise to deliver excellent care.

Requirements:

  • GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths, plus relevant care qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or 3).
  • Previous experience in care work, preferably in a similar setting (e.g., residential or domiciliary care).
  • An empathetic and non-judgmental approach, able to build trust with customers and colleagues alike.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, with the ability to document care plans and reports accurately.
  • A flexible approach, willing to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
