Front of House Volunteer Coordinator

Are you looking for a rewarding volunteering opportunity in a fascinating setting? Forncett Industrial Steam Museum is seeking a dedicated front-of-house volunteer to join our team on the first Sunday of each month.
About UsOur museum showcases an incredible collection of stationary steam engines, including the historic Soame Steam Cart, one of the oldest surviving steam-driven cars in the UK. We pride ourselves on being a small, independent, and volunteer-run organisation, working together to preserve and promote the history of steam power.
Key Responsibilities- Providing exceptional customer service to visitors from across the country and abroad.
- Ensuring the smooth running of front-of-house operations, including ticket sales, guided tours, and events.
- Working collaboratively with other volunteers to achieve our goals and deliver an outstanding experience for visitors.
In exchange for your time and effort, we offer the opportunity to work in a unique and inspiring environment, surrounded by stunning steam engines and passionate volunteers. You will also gain valuable experience in customer service, teamwork, and event management, as well as the chance to develop new skills and knowledge in a supportive and inclusive team.
The estimated salary for this role is £25-£28 per hour, taking into account the high level of responsibility and the specialist skills required. However, please note that this is an unpaid volunteer position.
