Job Title: Facilities Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Manager to join our team at Essential Employment. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our buildings and providing exceptional customer service to our clients.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Building Environment Management: Ensure the building environment is safe, compliant, and of high quality, adhering to statutory requirements and procedures.
  • Customer Relationships: Develop effective relationships with internal and external customers, conducting regular meetings and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Coordination and Liaison: Coordinate actions emerging from user group meetings, liaising with relevant services as necessary, and taking ownership of task delivery and issue resolution.
  • Service Monitoring and Coordination: Monitor and coordinate services and activities delivered within the building, ensuring safe working practices and a single holistic response to issues.
  • Quality Standards: Implement and monitor adherence to Estates Services Quality standards, resolving areas of non-compliance and meeting customer needs.
  • Inter-Departmental Collaboration: Participate in project meetings and take an active part in regular Health & Safety and service level agreement meetings.
  • Staff Management: Manage Facilities Supervisors and Cleaners, including organisation of work schedules, staff development meetings, and appraisals.
  • Recruitment and Training: Conduct/participate in interview, selection, and induction processes, ensuring appropriate recruitment, selection, management, and development of staff.
  • Health and Safety: Monitor compliance with health and safety legislation, including hazard identification and auditing, and routine testing/checking of fire safety points/alarms.
  • Technology Utilisation: Utilise technology to manage service information and activity, targeting resources based on identified need.
  • Continuous Service Improvement: Commit to continuous service improvement within all buildings, identifying gaps in service provision and leading on service improvement projects.
  • Visual Audits: Undertake regular visual, safety, and appearance audits of buildings and their surrounding environment, taking ownership for service delivery.
  • Cover and Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other Facilities Managers and cover as required to ensure full services are delivered across the Estate.
  • Event Management: Oversee event booking and delivery in a building, ensuring compliance with booking procedures and Health & Safety prior and during the event.
