Babcock International Group is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Devonport Royal Dockyard. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the Royal Navy's Type 23 (T23) Frigates are maintained to the highest standard.

The Role

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical contract management and oversight of service provider activities for ship maintenance periods. You will act as the focal point for allocated work packages, evaluating and reporting progress on quality, configuration, and engineering standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Providing technical contract management and oversight of service provider activities.
  2. Acting as the focal point for allocated work packages.
  3. Evaluating and reporting progress on quality, configuration, and engineering standards.
  4. Assessing and endorsing technical requirements associated with emergent and additional work.
  5. Reviewing and analysing data, including defects, certification, tests, and trials reports.
  6. Managing the ordering and supply of materials to support core contract activities.

This is a full-time role, 35 hours per week, based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard. We offer a competitive salary, generous holiday allowance, contributory pension scheme, and opportunities for professional development.

Essential Experience:
  • Experienced Marine Engineer
  • Experience of marine propulsion and auxiliary systems
  • A basic understanding of the role of a T23 Frigate
  • Strong stakeholder management experience at all levels
Qualifications:

Minimum HND/HNC qualified in a relevant engineering discipline or have demonstrable experience in a relevant engineering field.

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance for this role.
