About the Role

SPEQ Recruitment is seeking a skilled Technical Leader to join our team. As a Technical Leader, you will be responsible for leading a technical team in a high-volume manufacturing environment, driving improvements in equipment reliability, team performance, and overall production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a technical team to resolve equipment breakdowns and improve maintenance processes.
  • Attend meetings to provide updates on engineering status and plan resource deployment.
  • Investigate and resolve recurring technical issues using root cause analysis techniques.
  • Coach and support team members, including Technicians and Apprentices, in maintenance activities.
  • Support continuous improvement (CI) projects to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Maintain and improve maintenance standards and documentation.
  • Plan and execute preventative and opportunistic maintenance activities.
  • Record and report maintenance activities, including spares usage, via SAP systems.
  • Escalate equipment breakdowns promptly and efficiently.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Education: HNC or Degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of technical or manufacturing experience, including complex moulding manufacturing.
    • Proven experience leading a technical team in a busy manufacturing environment.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
    • Confident decision-making in high-pressure situations.
    • Strong understanding of safety, ergonomics, and quality systems in manufacturing.
    • Effective team-building and coaching skills.
Compensation Package:

The estimated salary for this role is £70,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience. This package includes a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for career growth and development.
