Job Title: Primary School Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Teaching Assistant to join our team in a dynamic primary school. As a General Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of our students.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a 3-form entry primary school with a nursery provision and a commitment to inclusivity. Our school strives to be a part of the community, offering a range of initiatives to support local families and promote accessibility.

Responsibilities
  • Provide support to students in reading, writing, and SPAG
  • Adjust and adapt activities to meet individual needs and promote participation
  • Develop a supportive relationship with students to promote self-esteem and confidence
  • Liaise with teachers and SENCO to ensure effective support and communication
  • Provide whole-class, small-group, and 1:1 support
  • Monitor and maintain records of student progress
  • Assist with general school duties, including setting up classrooms and supervising students during lunchtimes
Requirements
  • Enhanced child DBS on the update service or willingness to acquire a new one
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Preferred experience in educational settings, particularly schools
  • Provision of two recent professional references
  • Experience working with young people and managing challenging behavior
