About the Job

We are seeking an experienced system engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of a multiple award-winning ATM system.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a program with an innovative pipeline of international work and provide Air Traffic Control Officers (ATCOs) with cutting-edge tools to enhance their operations.

The successful candidate will work as part of an agile team, performing all aspects of systems engineering throughout the development life cycle to meet sprint milestones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), product architects, and requirements to define low-level software requirements.
  • Conduct functional and technical analysis to shape system design.
  • Produce detailed engineering artefacts, including engineering plans, system element descriptions, control and monitoring design documents, interface design documents, failure modes effect analysis, and safety artefacts.
  • Prepare operational instructions and training material for software applications and supporting tools.
  • Assist in defining overarching product concepts and software architecture.
  • Investigate problems identified during test and operations, including problem diagnosis and resolution.
  • Review test artefacts, such as test cases and test procedures.
  • Apply relevant standards, processes, and principles in daily activities.
  • Assist in impact assessments for product releases or change requests.

Requirements

  • Experience in requirements management and associated software (e.g., DOORS).
  • Experience in software architecture within real-time and/or safety-related systems and/or mission-critical environments.
  • Experience in the complete system life cycle from problem definition through deployment.
  • Adherence to process within a software development environment.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-functional product team (systems engineering, software engineering, test, engineering management).
  • Enthusiastic self-starter with good attention to detail and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent written communication through email, presentations, and reports.
  • Comprehensive understanding of various software development methodologies.
  • Ability to work under schedule and cost constraints.
