About the Role

In this senior role, you will be supporting our fast-paced Academic publishing programme within Content Operations. Your key responsibility will be to oversee and manage external supplier project managers as they organize the production of content from delivery to production until publication in print and digital formats, ensuring high-quality products are available to the market on time and at the right cost.

Negotiating with key stakeholders, including authors, you will facilitate effective communication and problem-solving. Additionally, you will provide specialism in books requiring a high level of author care and attention to detail across a diverse range of academic, scholarly, and trade titles.

Duties

  • Oversee the work of third-party supplier project managers in the production of print and online academic books content
  • Manage the communication of third-party supplier project managers with all project stakeholders
  • Support and advise third-party supplier project managers on the analysis and resolution of issues in the production process
  • Liaise and coordinate with pre-press suppliers
  • Facilitate continuous improvement by mentoring and coaching third-party supplier project managers
  • Proactively contribute to the analysis and resolution of problems relating to supplier performance issues
  • Generate, engage with, and implement business process improvements and transformations
  • Manage the production process on titles requiring high levels of care and attention to detail

  • Good experience and understanding of print and digital production processes and workflow
  • Good experience and understanding of copy-editing, proofreading, and indexing processes

  • Good numeracy with the ability to create a budget
  • Good IT skills
