Job Summary:

The Chelsea Physic Garden is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Head of Plant Collections to join our team. As a key member of our horticultural team, you will be responsible for leading a small team of horticultural specialists, interns, trainees, and volunteers in the care and presentation of the Garden's plant collections to our visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Head of Plant Collections to develop and implement strategies for the care and presentation of the Garden's plant collections.
  • Lead a team of horticultural specialists, interns, trainees, and volunteers in the maintenance and upkeep of the Garden's plant collections.
  • Develop and implement training programs for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in plant care and horticulture.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure the Garden's plant collections are presented in a way that is engaging and informative for visitors.
  • Contribute to the development of the Garden's horticultural policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in horticulture and plant care.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of horticultural practices and principles.
