UNCOVER: Senior Conflicts Analyst

Salary: £80,000 - £110,000 per annum.

Job Description:

In this strategic role, you will be responsible for ensuring the firm navigates complex conflicts of interest matters. This involves collaborating with the General Counsel and other members of the Risk Legal team to develop best practices, train junior team members, and assist in setting up protocols for the new intake system.

This position will focus on the review and clearance of conflicts, particularly those involving complex matters. You will work closely with stakeholders to resolve conflicts of interest in line with firm policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise and leadership on conflicts analysis, collaborating with the General Counsel, the Risk Legal team, and key stakeholders.
  • Review and clear conflicts, especially those that involve complex scenarios or high-risk clients.
  • Engage with Partners and fee-earners to resolve conflicts of interest in line with firm policies.
  • Identify potential strategic or issue-based conflicts, advising the Legal Risk team on complex client and workstream interactions.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior team members on conflict checks, ensuring consistency and quality in execution.

Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience as a conflicts analyst, ideally gained within a large or international law firm.
  • Strong knowledge of professional rules and regulations regarding conflicts of interest, including familiarity with relevant legal frameworks.
  • Experience of working with or understanding US conflicts rules would be an advantage, as some firm fee-earners are subject to US bar regulations.
  • Prior exposure to Intapp Conflicts software is desirable, although not essential.
  • Proven experience in process improvement and change management is beneficial.
