Job Description:

  • Identify and qualify R&D activities and expenditure through technical & financial discussions with clients for new and repeat claims.
  • Lead R&D workshops on clients, providing clear explanations of the definition of R&D for tax purposes and discussing sector-specific examples of qualifying activities.
  • Manage client relationships and provide exceptional stakeholder management.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks in claims.
  • Compile project reports to illustrate eligible activities to support R&D claims with strong attention to detail and first-time accuracy.
  • Project manage day-to-day aspects of claims, setting timescales for delivery, and communicating confidently with clients to explain various judgements made in claim compilation and their implications.
  • Respond to HMRC R&D enquiries and defend claims effectively.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in R&D tax relief and other related issues.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2-3 years' work experience in the R&D Tax industry.
  • Financial and technical background.
  • Strong project management skills and experience.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and excellent communication skills.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good knowledge of HMRC requirements.
  • The drive to succeed and grow within R&D Tax.
  • Passion for science, technology, and innovation.
  • Average salary for this role: £55,000 - £75,000 per annum.
