
Care Professional Development Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Care Professional Development Specialist.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and manage Home Instead's Initial Care Professional Training course, ensuring flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of our care professionals.
- Organize and conduct weekend training sessions, working in conjunction with on-call support, on an 8-weekly basis.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive mentoring program, including the care certificate, to support new employees in their first 12 weeks.
- Manage the compliance and completion of 15 care certificate eLearning standards via the MLC eLearning platform, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
- Conduct competency assessments, including the mandatory 1st visit competency assessment and 1-2 additional assessments per person, and electronically document results to ensure employment support is completed.
- Provide weekly touchpoints and welfare calls with new starters, documenting conversations to demonstrate coaching and mentoring.
- Create and manage care certificates, including personal development plans, completion matrices, and graduation celebrations.
- Offer general ad hoc planning and coaching support, as well as inform management of updates to national office templates and review franchise updates via My Franchise.
- Support additional work required leading up to audits and inspections, conduct client introductions, and participate in on-call duties as needed.
- Ensure compliance with Home Instead's Equality, Diversity, and Equal Opportunities Policy, and prepare and deliver in-depth KPIs during team meetings.
- Model the behaviors expected of our team and lead by example.
Requirements
- Working towards a Level 3 or 4 NVQ in Health and Social Care, or be willing to enroll with Home Instead.
- Experience in health and social care settings, with a focus on training and people management.
- Passion for delivering high-quality care to our clients and supporting them in living independently and happily at home.
- Advanced knowledge of legislation and regulations specific to Health and Social Care, with excellent communication and conflict management skills.
- Ability to use care management technology and provide support and training to care professionals.
- Understanding of confidentiality and the importance of maintaining it within current legislation.
- Good working knowledge of IT systems, including Microsoft Office, and a full driving license with means of transport if required.
- Flexible working time and adaptability to changing business needs.
