Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Location: North East

Salary Range: £75 - £110 per day (Depending on experience)

Contract: Daily Supply, Long term

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team in a dynamic secondary school in the North East. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored support to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities:
  • Support students with SEMH needs in their academic and personal development.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers and staff to foster a supportive learning environment.
  • Implement individualised support plans and strategies tailored to each student's needs.
  • Assist in managing classroom behaviour and promoting positive interactions among students.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support as required to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Monitor and report on student progress and well-being to inform ongoing support strategies.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young individuals.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEMH support are desirable but not essential.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
