Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Partner to champion HSE in the Group, ensuring risks are managed effectively. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing strategic risk areas, delivering safety for customers and colleagues, and ensuring the Group meets its legal obligations.

About the Role:

As Health and Safety Partner, you will be the HSE support to colleagues at all levels, ensuring they operate safely and understand their personal responsibility. You will ensure all parts of the Group follow the Safety-First philosophy and adopt the Riverside safety operating model.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage HSE risks in assigned risk areas, ensuring effective controls are in place.
  • Support Accountable Risk Leads in delivering against their risk framework.
  • Monitor the groups online accident book (SAW-IT system) and ensure business areas understand how to use it.
  • Present ARLs and senior leaders with monthly management information about their risk area and general HSE performance.
  • Ensure risk assessments are in place to protect colleagues and customers.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Experience in HSE assurance within a large, dispersed organisation.
  • Level 5/6 HSE qualification.
  • Demonstrable experience conducting investigations and implementing control measures.
  • Proven experience of influencing senior leaders to take ownership of HSE risks.
  • Ability to use / analyse data to drive improvements.
  • Experience of successfully implementing ISO45001 and ISO14001.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and government regulations pertaining to HSE in Housing.

Desirable:

  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Membership of a relevant professional organisation.
  • Degree level or equivalent in a related discipline.
  • Lead Auditing Qualification and Experience.
  • Major Incident Investigation Experience.
