Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineer

BAE Systems is seeking a skilled Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineer to join our Submarines Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, building, testing, and commissioning the largest and most advanced submarines ever operated by the Royal Navy.

You will work alongside our Astute Class and Dreadnought Class Submarines to provide a powerful and secure deterrent for the United Kingdom 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Key Responsibilities

As an EMC Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Specifying and managing EMC requirements and acceptance criteria for systems, platforms, and programmes.
  • Advising design teams on EMC requirements and design for EMC considerations.
  • Liaising with EMC test engineers to design and specify testing regimes to prove system compliance against relevant standards.
  • Performing and reporting on tests undertaken on systems to demonstrate compliance against relevant standards.
  • Designing and implementing system mitigation to meet EMC standards.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronic Engineering, Physics, or Maths. Knowledge of wave propagation and electromagnetic interference with electronics would be beneficial.
