Support Worker - Care and Cleaning Assistant

About the Role

Westgate Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker - Care and Cleaning Assistant to join our team at St Pauls Care Centre in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.

Responsibilities

  • Clean all assigned rooms, paying close attention to all surfaces, floors, and en-suite bathrooms to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Maintain and replenish all cleaning products to ensure the centre remains well-equipped and efficient.
  • Ensure that all equipment is clean, well-maintained, and stored properly to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety procedures, ensuring that all company operational standards are met in line with quality, cleanliness, infection control, health and safety, and business needs.
  • Ensure that all public areas and staff facilities meet company standards at all times, promoting a positive and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
  • Report any maintenance issues immediately and follow up as required to maintain the centre's overall condition.

Requirements

  • The right to live and work in the UK.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with residents, staff, and external partners.
  • Ability to work in a team, demonstrating a caring nature and a positive attitude, with a willingness to go above and beyond to meet the needs of our residents.
  • An understanding of Health and Safety, Infection Control, and COSHH principles to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Previous experience in a similar position is desirable but not essential, as comprehensive training and induction will be provided.

Estimated Salary: £11.55 per hour, plus 50p p/h weekend enhancement, with opportunities for financial growth and development.

Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours) and part-time (30 hours) positions available, with flexible shifts to suit your needs and preferences.
