Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated teaching assistant/SEND Level 2 Teaching Assistant to support a child in our Year 2 class in the mornings and during lunchtime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish good working relationships with children, acting as a role model
  • Experience of promoting effective communication and language
  • Experience of delivering phonics
  • Experience of working with a child(ren) with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and supporting children to self-regulate
  • Have experience of delivering a highly adapted, bespoke learning curriculum delivered in small chunks using multi-sensory methods
  • Have experience in supporting children to record their learning in a variety of ways
  • Experience of delivering speech, language and communication and/or willing to undergo training
  • Be aware of and respond appropriately to individual pupil needs
  • Promote inclusion and acceptance of all children
  • Demonstrate commitment to quality learning
  • Have experience working and/or qualifications within the area of SEND
  • Work well with other staff and agencies
  • Be motivated, have a positive attitude and enjoy a challenge

About the Role: The successful applicant will join the KS1 team and will contribute to the high standard of teaching and learning at Heathfield.
