Taylor James Resourcing is seeking a highly skilled Lead Statutory Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing expert financial accounting services to our clients in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and timely statutory accounts for UK entities, ensuring compliance with external audit requirements.
  • Liaise directly with company auditors, coordinating responses to audit testing and resolving any queries that may arise.
  • Research and apply UK GAAP accounting policies for new or changing business activities, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Post UK GAAP adjustments into unconsolidated companies in SAP, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Take a lead role in interim and year-end SOX control audits, preparing supporting schedules and analysis to ensure a smooth process.
  • Ensure timely and accurate internal monthly corporate reporting to our headquarters, including Benefit analysis, Ad valorem taxes, and Allowance for doubtful accounts reports.
  • Perform month-end close activities as assigned, including accruals and amortisations, payroll accounting, currency revaluations, and other ad hoc journals.
  • Undertake monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring completion by the end of the month to the required standard.
  • Critically review accounting entries in SAP and overall account balance variances on a monthly basis.
  • Perform ad hoc statutory and analytical work to support Manager UK & HQ Accounting and the Europe business.

Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level and must be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
  • Up-to-date knowledge of UK GAAP accounting standards (FRS102).
  • Post-qualification experience in financial accounting and statutory reporting (5+ years).
  • Advanced user of Excel & SAP.
  • Experience using Thomson Reuters OneSource Accounts Production software preferred but not essential.

The estimated salary for this position is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
