About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Plastics Process Development Specialist to join our team at Reliance Worldwide Corporation. This is an exciting opportunity to utilise your expertise in injection moulding and process optimisation to drive efficiency and quality in our manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop stable, repeatable, and optimised injection moulding processes for RWC tooling and materials, ensuring products meet quality standards.
- Troubleshoot moulding processes and material or equipment issues, creating and maintaining troubleshooting guides in moulding.
- Define optimised injection moulding processes to meet safety, process capability, quality, and efficiency targets.
- Evaluate tooling for areas of concern, recommending improvements to optimise moulding, setup, and manufacturing processes.
- Document and maintain moulding process packs, providing training and guidance to colleagues to achieve business objectives.
- Resolve process concerns, working with stakeholders to ensure root causes are identified and permanent corrective actions are implemented.
- Analyse manufacturing processes, identifying improvements and reporting recommendations to management.
- Conduct trials for new materials, ensuring suitability with existing tooling and equipment.
- Promote fact-based decision-making, ensuring robust solutions are implemented to resolve issues.
- Initiate and manage process improvement teams to resolve issues using techniques such as 5 Whys, Ishikawa, and 8D.
- Stay up-to-date with specifications, technology, and manufacturing processes, complying with all current work instructions and HSE regulations.
Requirements
- A proven track record of process development within the plastics industry.
- Wide experience of engineering polymers across various industries.
- Use of process optimisation and process capability studies.
- Relevant experience in injection moulding in a high-volume manufacturing operation.
- NVQ Level 3 - Injection Moulding.
- Experience in commissioning and developing new tooling and processes.
