Job Description

EdEx is seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic Psychology Graduates to fill Teaching Assistant positions in a school located in the London Borough of Lewisham. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and support students with SEN in 1:1, group, or whole-class situations, ensuring their safety and access to learning.
  • Assist in monitoring students' progress and providing feedback on their achievements, progress, and needs.
  • Lead small group sessions and interventions as required.
  • Attend to students' personal needs where necessary.
  • Support with behavior management for students with mild needs.
  • Undertake learning activities/teaching programs, adjusting activities to ensure achievement of learning goals.
  • Assist with supervision of students out of lesson times, including playtimes and lunchtime duty.
Requirements:
  • A graduate in a relevant degree with a 1:1 or 2:1 classification.
  • Strong academic credentials through A-Level/BTEC's and GCSEs.
  • Previous experience supporting children, preferably in a school-based setting.
  • A hard-working nature, friendly, confident, and a willingness to learn and develop your career in a fantastic, nurturing school.
