At ACS Testing Ltd, we're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Assistant Drilling and Coring Technician. This is a fantastic opportunity to start a career in geotechnical drilling and coring with no prior experience necessary.

We provide comprehensive on-the-job training, allowing you to develop the skills required for this rewarding role. You'll be responsible for operating geotechnical sampling drilling rigs, undertaking sampling, coring, and testing, and installing monitoring equipment. Travel and overtime are required, but we offer competitive compensation for your hard work.

In this position, you will:

  • Operate geotechnical drilling rigs and coring rigs efficiently and safely.
  • Undertake geotechnical sampling, coring, and in-situ testing to collect data and samples.
  • Install geotechnical and geo-environmental monitoring equipment as needed.
  • Maintain company drilling rigs, equipment, and vehicles to ensure they remain in good working order.
  • Pursue knowledge and understanding of the role through ongoing training and professional development.
  • Travel throughout the UK and occasionally stay overnight due to contract requirements.
  • Hold a valid clean driving license with at least 3 years of driving experience.
  • Possess a CSCS Training Card.
  • Have experience towing or driving plant machinery.

We estimate the salary for this role to be around £35,000 - £45,000 per year, based on national averages for similar positions in the UK.
