About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Engineering Specialist to join our team at Jaguar Land Rover. As a key member of our Calibration and Controls department, you will play a vital role in developing a comprehensive functional safety strategy for our propulsion systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish Robust Safety Methods: Develop and document safety methods for diverse propulsion systems and coordinate with Feature teams on Functional Safety activities.
  • Automated Safety Processes: Develop and refine automated Functional Safety processes, ensuring tool capability aligns with JLR safety objectives.
  • Safety Software Architecture: Lead Functional Safety software architecture working closely with our team software designers.
  • Supplier Partnerships: Partner with suppliers and serve as a "Matched-Pair" liaison with software and calibration designers.
  • Process Improvement: Drive improvement projects to enhance processes, tools, and safety methodologies across JLR's propulsion systems.
Requirements
  • Hands-on Experience: System modeling (vehicle and/or propulsion systems) and Functional Safety in automotive or safety-critical environments.
  • Safety Analysis Techniques: Proficient in FMEA, FTA, and knowledgeable of ISO 26262 and other safety standards.
  • Leadership Skills: Experience leading structured problem-solving for complex engineering issues, with a focus on continuous improvement.

What We Offer

A competitive salary of £55,000 - £70,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for career growth.
