Job Title: Medical Secretary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Secretary to join our team in General Practice. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of our practice by providing high-quality secretarial and administrative support.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Prepare and Manage Correspondence: Type and manage correspondence, including medical referrals, reports, and patient communications, using EMIS Web and the CAB system.
  2. Liaise with Healthcare Providers: Liaise with hospitals, consultants, and other healthcare providers to ensure seamless communication and patient care.
  3. Maintain Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality and compliance with GDPR and other regulatory requirements.
  4. Administrative Support: Assist the administrative team with ad hoc tasks during busy periods.
Key Job Responsibilities
  1. Typing and Documentation: Type letters, reports, and associated documentation as required.
  2. Liaising with External Agencies: Liaise with external agencies such as hospitals and community services, ensuring referrals are processed efficiently.
  3. Data Entry and Scanning: Scan patient-related documentation and attach scanned documents to patients' healthcare records.
  4. Coding and Data Input: Input data into the patients' healthcare records as necessary and code data on the clinical IT system.
  5. Customer Service: Answer incoming phone calls, transfer calls, or deal with caller's requests appropriately.

The estimated salary for this position is £28,000 - £32,000 per annum, depending on experience.
