About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Architect to join our team at WATG. As a Project Architect, you will be responsible for the technical resolution and coordination of a defined portion of a project or projects, including the coordination of drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the overall design intent of the project is incorporated into the detailed project documentation
  • Monitor the design process from the conceptual phase through construction administration, and validate that the design idea is consistent and properly executed
  • Responsible for the technical resolution and coordination of a defined portion of a project or projects, including the coordination of drawings and specifications
  • Check completed reports, plans, estimates, and calculations for accuracy
  • Coordinate and track shared electronic documentation and files with the project team, clients, and consultants
  • Write reports and documentation to consultants and vendors to issue changes and track resolutions
  • Prepare meeting minutes of consultant coordination meetings
  • Manage project documents and identify the sheets planned for each stage of the work, including defining how data will be organized into files and which elements will be incorporated in a Building Information Model (BIM)
  • Foster and maintain a collaborative professional working relationship with the project team
  • Coordinate communication with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors to ensure incorporation of all information into project requirements, providing support when necessary
  • Manage construction detail documentation so that it conforms to quality assurance, quality control, and best practice standards
  • Supervise the preparation of technical drawings by other less senior-level architects or team members
  • Perform as team leader on certain projects
  • Mentor and direct the work of team members, reviews their work, and provides development opportunities
  • Incorporate Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects
  • Foster a green workplace through sustainable work practices
