About the Role

As a key member of our Watford signalling department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of train movements. This is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of railway operations, working collaboratively with skilled colleagues to foster a supportive environment where everyone can learn and grow.

We are looking for a strong leader who can direct, organise, and motivate a high-performing team. Your responsibilities will include inspection and faulting, maintenance and renewal, and ensuring that all work is done efficiently and to the highest standards. Safety will be a top priority, and you will be responsible for establishing appropriate safety arrangements and ensuring that Network Rail staff and contractors follow safe systems of work.

You will also be responsible for proactively controlling and checking the quality of work and the competence of your team members. This will involve ensuring that assets are fully compliant and that all vehicles, plant, tools, equipment, and materials are fit for purpose. Along the way, you will compile a range of vital reports.

Please note that there may be a requirement to work on call in this role if you opt to take the GTRM IMC25 contract.

Requirements
  • Experience of organising and controlling the safe and efficient delivery of work
  • Excellent communication skills, both in person and in writing
  • Knowledge of discipline-specific maintenance, inspection, faulting, and renewal techniques
  • Knowledge of relevant standards, procedures, and instructions
  • A clear and inspirational leader with a strong sense of direction
Desirable Criteria
  • Hold IRSE faulting and maintenance licence 1.4.230 or working towards
  • Have good experience in S&T equipment, including POINTS IBCL, RCPL, HPSS, HW2000, SIGNALS, SL35, LED, BANNER, TPWS, AWS, SSI, TRACK CIRCUIT, HVI, REED, AXLE COUNTER, 843 BARRIERS, TREADLES, FAULT FINDING
  • Able and willing to drive vehicles as required by business need
