Job Summary

The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team in the Medicines Management department. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in providing a high-quality patient-focused medicines optimisation service to patients of the Trust, associated hospitals, and community clinics.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide a high-quality patient-focused medicines optimisation service, helping to provide a flexible and responsive service to patient needs.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-focused care to patients and ensure a timely supply of medicines, utilisation of patients' own medicines, and counselling on medication.
  • Participate in medicines management, ward top-up dispensary, and ward-based dispensing.
  • Support the dispensary in the timely dispensing and supply of discharge medication.
  • Counsel patients as identified according to procedures and ensure that all discharge medicines are current.

Requirements
  • BTEC or NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
  • Previous hospital experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability to prioritise work.
  • Ability to assess and deal with situations.
Working Arrangements

This is a bank pharmacy technician role, and you will be required to work a variety of shifts, including late shifts and weekends. You will be working as part of a team to provide a high-quality patient-focused medicines optimisation service.
