Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Associate Director - Fabrication Lead to join our team. As a key member of our Events and Exhibitions department, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals in the design, development, and execution of large-scale fabrication projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership
    • Lead and direct a team of carpenters, CAD technicians, production managers, and subcontractor freelancers to ensure successful project delivery.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve team performance, productivity, and morale.
  • Project Management
    • Work closely with project managers to develop and manage project budgets, scopes, designs, and build schedules.
    • Provide comprehensive support and leadership on projects and tasks, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Fabrication and Production
    • Develop and implement efficient build schedules, ensuring client delivery is always met.
    • Collaborate with project managers and production teams to develop build event ideas and concepts.
    • Advise on build drawings for projects, ensuring items are built in the most efficient way to drive profitability.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and team members to ensure seamless project execution.
    • Collaborate with other department leads and associate directors to ensure cohesive and efficient working practices.
  • Health and Safety
    • Ensure all projects are managed to a high standard, adhering to health and safety guidelines and procedures.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve health and safety performance and reduce risks.

Requirements

  • Leadership and Management
    • Proven experience in leading and managing teams, with a strong track record of success.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  • Technical Skills
    • Strong knowledge of CAD, CNC, Octanorm, and event build systems.
    • Proficiency in carpentry and joinery skills, electrical LED lighting systems, and AV.
  • Business Acumen
    • Excellent problem-solving and project management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Strong understanding of business operations, with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Education and Certifications
    • Relevant degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
    • Health and safety training and certifications, as required.
