We have significant growth ambitions in the next 5-10 years and are looking for a Taxation Strategy Director to play a fundamental role in delivering our growth agenda while ensuring responsible and sustainable growth.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be accountable for devising, delivering, and gaining Board approval for the Group's tax strategy covering direct, employment, and indirect tax obligations. They will ensure visibility with key stakeholders and adherence to the strategy.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of UK direct and indirect taxes, a track record of working with Senior Management and the Board in a complex organisation providing taxation advice, and excellent engagement and influencing skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Devise, deliver, and gain Board approval for the Group's tax strategy covering direct, employment, and indirect tax obligations
  • Foster good relationships with HMRC and tax advisors, defending tax positions where needed
  • Ensure the business complies with all statutory requirements relating to direct, employment, and indirect taxes; managing the processes to ensure that all key tax returns are filed
  • Maintain appropriate tax governance, policies, and processes to identify and minimise tax risk across all taxes

Requirements

  • CTA qualified or equivalent and proven experience
  • Minimum of 7-10 years' experience post qualification with evidence of continuous professional development
  • Strong knowledge of UK direct and indirect taxes
  • A track record working with Senior Management and the Board in a complex organisation providing taxation advice

Salary Information

The estimated salary for this position is £70,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience.
