Job Summary:
Momart is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our Packing and Casemaking Department as an Arts Packaging Specialist. This is a full-time, permanent position that requires a strong understanding of art handling and packaging procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely handle and transport artworks using appropriate lifting equipment and techniques.
- Design and fabricate custom packing systems, linings, and wraps to ensure the safe transportation of fragile art pieces.
- Operate workshop equipment and machinery in accordance with company procedures and safety protocols.
- Execute tasks efficiently and effectively, meeting deadlines and maintaining a high level of quality.
- Perform manual handling tasks, including lifting and moving heavy objects, while maintaining a safe working environment.
- Wrap and pack art objects with precision and care, utilizing intensive training provided by the company.
- Complete operational paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assess and record the condition of artworks, ensuring that any damage or issues are reported promptly.
- Adhere to company security policies and procedures, maintaining confidentiality and integrity at all times.
- Communicate effectively with job planners, coordinators, and other team members to ensure seamless workflow and collaboration.
- Monitor and maintain stock levels, reporting any discrepancies or issues to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and organized workshop environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Collaborate with other technicians, sharing knowledge and expertise to enhance the team's overall performance.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of health and safety procedures, adhering to company policies and regulations.
