About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Economic Analyst to join our Economics Team at the British Business Bank. As an integral member of our team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality economic analysis and research reports that inform our business decisions.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of microeconomics, including market failures, and be able to apply this knowledge to real-life economic problems. You will also have excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality economic analysis and communicate complex ideas clearly.

You will work closely with our senior management team to develop and implement economic research programs, including cutting-edge analysis of small business finance markets. You will also contribute to the development of Bank products and programs, as well as evaluations of our activities.

We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual who is able to work independently and as part of a team. You will have a strong understanding of the British Business Bank and its activities, as well as proficiency in the use of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality economic analysis and research reports
  • Develop and implement economic research programs
  • Contribute to the development of Bank products and programs
  • Evaluate the impact of Bank activities
  • Work closely with senior management team to inform business decisions

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of microeconomics, including market failures
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to produce high-quality economic analysis and communicate complex ideas clearly
  • Proficiency in the use of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Strong understanding of the British Business Bank and its activities
