Locum Housing Litigation Lawyer – Competitive Rate – Hybrid – Full Time

Up to £50 per hour umbrella rate is available for this position.

A reputable local authority in a London borough seeks an experienced Housing Litigation Lawyer on a locum basis. The initial contract duration is 3 months, with a high possibility of extension.

The role requires full-time work, with only 1 day spent in the office per week.

We are looking for a determined and skilled Housing Litigation Lawyer who can make a real difference in the field. Venn Group is working closely with the local authority to find the right candidate for this challenging role.

To be successful in this position, you will need to have a valid practising certificate in England as a Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of CILEX.

  • Specialism within Housing Law and related legislation is essential.
  • You should have evidence of practising Housing Law post-qualification, particularly housing litigation, anti-social behaviour and possessions.
  • Experience working within local authorities or for relevant public sector organisations is highly desirable.
  • An adaptable approach to work is necessary, as you will be required to react to a constantly changing environment.

Your responsibilities will include advising clients on all aspects of Housing Law and providing representation when necessary. You will also work collaboratively across the authority, addressing issues related to tenancy management.

Additionally, you will undertake research as requested in relation to Housing Law, including general housing litigation, anti-social behaviour and possessions. Liaising with stakeholders and advising officers and members in a proactive and sensitive manner are also key aspects of this role.

Mentoring and training less experienced team members is another important responsibility. Working efficiently under tight deadlines is essential for this position.
