Front of House Security Officer

Key Responsibilities
As a Security Officer in a hospital setting, you will be expected to maintain a high standard of personal conduct and deportment at all times. Regular patrols of the front of the site will be required to ensure that smokers do not congregate and block the passage of staff, visitors, patients, and others to the hospital entrance, in line with the trust's no smoking policy.
Protection of patients, staff, visitors, contractors, and other legitimate site users' property against loss, theft, damage, and waste is a critical aspect of this role. You will receive and log complaints of crime from patients, visitors, and staff, and carry out investigations when required, reporting to the Supervisor as necessary.
Providing security assistance as required in accordance with the Trust's Major Incident Plan, Missing Patient Policy, and Major Non-Clinical Emergency Policy is also a key responsibility. You will ensure the safe custody of all lost/found property out of hours, and during working hours, take such property to the General Office.
Assisting in the passage of critical information when communications systems fail, using computerized systems in relation to Security and Car Parking, and reporting any untoward incidents concerning members of staff to the Security Supervisor and/or other levels of management are all essential duties.
Responding to fire alarm activations as per Local Operating Procedures, including stand down protocols for the fire service, and liaising with other Trust staff on a site-wide basis are also critical aspects of this role.
Car Parking Duties and Responsibilities
Monitoring vehicles parked on site to ensure all vehicles are authorized to park in designated areas, following Trust Policy in regard to unauthorized vehicles, and issuing parking notices and warning notices as appropriate in line with the car parking local operating procedures for enforcement are all key responsibilities.
Assisting security officers with the first line maintenance of car park ticket machines, handling small amounts of cash removed from car park payment machines following coin jams, and ensuring the security of all cash movements/collections are also essential duties.
