The Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) is seeking a highly skilled Logistics Operations Manager to oversee the shipping and customs functions at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory. As a key member of the Logistics Team, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all shipping services in response to customer requests, ensuring accuracy of technical details relating to UK and overseas dispatch arrangements.

The ideal candidate will have proven shipping and logistics expertise, with experience in handling and documenting Dangerous Goods. You will also have industry and supplier management skills, as well as the ability to simplify complex customs/shipping requirements and communicate them to customers.

This role offers a competitive salary of £36,517 - £40,326 per annum, depending on skills and experience. You will also enjoy a range of benefits, including 30 days' annual leave, 10.5 public and privilege holidays, flexible working hours, and a workplace nursery.

The successful candidate will work closely with expert consultants to ensure that services and practice are compliant with regulatory requirements. They will also be responsible for managing shipping activities in line with agreed service levels, updating and developing these to respond to improvements and agreed processes.
