About the Role:

Mears Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Management Accountant to join our finance team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the company's management accounts, budgets, and financial reports are produced in a timely and accurate manner.

You will coordinate and supervise the month-end process, oversee junior accounting staff, and support the UK Financial Controller with monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and other ad hoc tasks. Your analytical skills and ability to find results will be essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of financial management information for a number of branches and entities within the Group.
  • Analysis of financial and other data in order to make recommendations and implement methods for increasing a branch or entity's efficiency and profitability.
  • Provision of clear information on both upside and downside risks for a branch or entity's operation.
  • Develop, manage, and support management accountant direct report.
  • Ownership of the preparation of financial MI from source data.
  • Assist regional finance teams and local operations in work in progress management, the production of cash forecasts, and cash collection.
Requirements:
  • Graduate with an accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships remotely with finance and non-finance colleagues.
  • Ability to control and interrogate high volume data.
  • Good knowledge of accounting standards and ability to apply this knowledge to work situations.
  • Proficient in Excel and IT.
