Manufacturing Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our innovative team at IAC Group. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for managing complex products from quotation to launch, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project manage complex products from quotation to launch, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  2. Manage multiple suppliers of tooling and capital, ensuring timing and cost targets are met.
  3. Launch new products and processes into the business, ensuring time and cost targets are met.
  4. Develop comprehensive timing plans in line with customer milestones.
  5. Develop pre-production processes and generate PFMEAs, control plans, and standard operating instructions.
  6. Design, develop, specify, and source key manufacturing equipment.
  7. Sign off new equipment, including management of run at rates and capability studies.
  8. Ensure products, processes, and materials are safe and complete health and safety documents as required.
  9. Support product design in the development of components, ensuring best-in-class design for manufacture.
  10. Produce workbooks to generate accurate cost estimates to support commercial.
  11. Manage changes through the CR system and ensure timely submission.
  12. Support quality in the close-out of customer concerns and aid root cause identification.
  13. Manage equipment installation and contractors.
  14. Support operations in the day-to-day running of the business.
  15. Generate cost-saving initiatives to support the plant's CI roadmap.
  16. Experience of aftermarket component supply.

Requirements:

  1. Degree qualified in mechanical or manufacturing engineering.
  2. Experience of working with an OEM.
  3. Knowledge of headliner manufacturing and assembly.
  4. Exposure to manufacturing lines highly reliant on IT systems.
  5. Significant experience in a relevant role within a 1st-tier automotive supplier, preferably within a just-in-time environment.
  6. Experience of Six Sigma / Lean manufacturing processes.
  7. Computer literate with MS Project.
  8. Auto CAD advantageous.
