About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Theatre Practitioner to join our team at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our perioperative care team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient-focused care in our operating theatres.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide safe and effective care to patients undergoing surgical procedures
- Assist in emergency situations and initiate emergency procedures as required
- Coordinate and carry out perioperative care with minimal supervision
- Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care
- Support and teach other members of the operating team
- Lead a team in the operating theatre, utilizing excellent communication skills to ensure efficiency and safety

Person Specification
We are looking for a Theatre Practitioner with the following qualifications and experience:
- RGN/ODP qualification
- Post-reg anaesthetic qualification (if RGN)
- Teaching/mentorship qualification
- Theatre qualification
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Previous theatre experience
- Knowledge of relevant surgical procedures
- Experience of caring for critically ill patients
