Accrington, Lancashire, United Kingdom Trostan Dene Full time

Trostan Dene is a reputable manufacturing business with an impressive client base in their industry, recognized as a top-tier supplier to prominent household names. Due to an employee's maternity leave, they are seeking a Credit Controller for a one-year contract starting in January with a handover period.

The Role:

This position deviates from traditional credit control roles; you will focus on regular customers set up for daily payments with occasional overdue payments to chase. You will not be responsible for extensive debt collection. A significant part of the role involves maintaining customer relationships and account management through weekly catch-up calls, requiring excellent relationship-building skills.

  1. Raising, uploading, and processing all customer and commercial invoices
  2. Allocating payments received
  3. Chasing payments for overdue accounts
  4. Reconciling customer accounts and resolving any queries that may arise
  5. Sending customer statements and proactively following up on overdue accounts
  6. Preparing reports as required
  7. Administering monthly invoice financing
  8. Setting up new customers and conducting credit checks
  9. Covering ad hoc Accounts Payable responsibilities during annual leave or absences

This is not a general debt collecting role but rather an account management position. The ideal candidate should possess strong relationship-building and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, including customers. Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel, along with the capability to perform pivot tables and VLOOKUPS, is also essential. Attention to detail, organization, and meeting strict deadlines are key attributes for this position.

On Offer:

The role comes with a competitive salary of up to £30,000 and flexible working hours, offering the option to condense workdays to four. Holidays start at 33 days per year (including Bank Holidays), pro-rata for four days, plus additional benefits.
