Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Grid Connection Manager to join our team at EWI Recruitment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of grid connection projects, ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise electrical and civil connection design to ensure all necessary permits are obtained for construction.
  • Prepare and submit PGMD applications and documentation for approval with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs).
  • Review planning documentation and ICP designs to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
  • Review project design and contractual documentation to ensure on-time and in-budget project delivery.
  • Prepare ICP tender documentation and assist with negotiation.
  • Liaise with DNOs and ICPs to obtain cost-effective connections.
  • Prepare submissions for power systems studies for solar and battery projects.
  • Conduct on-site supervision during construction and commissioning phases.
  • Review grid power studies for various solar and battery projects.
  • Identify potential issues and proactively take preventive measures to mitigate project risks.
Accountabilities
  • Contribute to the development of the Business Stream strategy.
  • Ensure design compliance with current legislation and relevant adopting utility policies, procedures, specifications, and codes of practice.
  • Ensure fit-for-purpose design processes and procedures are in place to support the Business.
  • Acquire necessary approvals and planning consents as required.
  • Provide analysis, advice, and support to resolve problems and enhance business/operational performance.
  • Provide functional leadership for a defined service area.
  • Develop and maintain professional networks to contribute to the development of best practice and fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Formulate training and development, and succession plans for their function.
Requirements
  • Qualification in electrical engineering (MSc/MEng/BSc/BEng or equivalent).
  • Project Manager with experience (3+ years) in the ICP and/or DNO/IDNO industry.
  • Experience in solar PV and BESS.
  • Good commercial knowledge and understanding.
