Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join their team in a school situated in Southampton, Hampshire. The pupils have complex and additional needs, and the role requires teaching to functional skills and/or GCSE level.
The ideal candidate will be a newly or fully qualified teacher with QTS, able to deliver lessons across the curriculum and support the needs of the school on a day-to-day basis.
The role involves teaching pupils in small groups, delivering lessons for a variety of attainment levels from entry level to GCSE / Functional Skills. The teacher will be required to plan schemes of work and carry out assessments to evidence pupil progress over time.
The successful candidate will be able to build and maintain strong relationships with service users and staff alike, have experience of working and supporting children with SEN and associated needs, and be resilient, forward thinking and adaptable.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering lessons across the curriculum and supporting the needs of the school
- Teaching pupils in small groups, delivering lessons for a variety of attainment levels
- Planning schemes of work and carrying out assessments to evidence pupil progress
- Monitoring the welfare of pupils and adhering to all safeguarding procedures promoted by the school
