Project Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at Human Engineering. As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in the delivery of our offshore projects, working closely with our clients and internal teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the delivery of offshore projects, including project surveys, engineering support, and project management.
  • Provide engineering support for offshore crane repairs, refurbishment, operation, and maintenance.
  • Manage assigned workscopes, adhering to internal company processes and policies.
  • Source spare parts, develop refurbishment plans, and coordinate equipment hire activities.
  • Design and engineer offshore crane and lifting projects.
  • Participate in and conduct lifting studies for clients onshore and offshore.
  • Prepare detailed workpacks and complete offshore/onsite work activities.
  • Manage project activities, including technical and commercial aspects.
  • Conduct offshore/onsite surveys and lead project workscopes.
  • Assist with tender generation, offers, design, and engineering for given disciplines.
  • Familiarize yourself with client and company HSEQ policies and procedures.
  • Identify safe and environmentally sound methods of work and systems to identify hazards at each workplace.
  • Be familiar with relevant legislation, codes of practice, guidance notes, and good industry practice.
  • Plan, organize, and document client work processes to deliver the required standard with minimum risk to personnel, plant, materials, and the environment.
  • Provide clear instructions to company personnel and subcontractors to implement safe methods of work and pre-defined communication lines between client and company.
  • Encourage personnel engaged on project/contract to develop an acceptable safety and environmental culture, which encourages near miss and accident reporting.
  • Act immediately on any breach of company rules that come to attention and report to line management as required.
  • Be alert to any inadequacies of the effectiveness of the management system and bring such inadequacies to the attention of line management.
Requirements:
  • Ability to interpret schematics, technical drawings, and manuals.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Capable of working without supervision.
  • Methodical and dynamic approach.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Onshore or offshore crane and lifting experience preferred.
  • Good understanding of HSEQ requirements offshore.
  • Sound IT skills, MS Project, Excel, Word, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree qualified, preferably mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • Consideration given to HND/HNC candidates.
