We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Solicitor/Legal Executive/Barrister to join our Contracts team at We Manage Jobs (WMJobs). The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality services to our clients and external organizations.

As a key member of our team, you will be expected to conduct and manage your own caseload with appropriate supervision. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting legal research and providing advice on procurement law, subsidy control, and contract law.
  • Drafting, negotiating, and completing commercial contracts and tender documentation for goods, works, equipment, and services.
  • Providing robust client-focused advice on contract standing orders, financial regulations, and other applicable legal and practical constraints.
  • Providing legal procurement advice on the sourcing, establishing, registering, incorporation, use, and running of appropriate legal and corporate vehicles.
  • Drafting, vetting, and assisting in the negotiation of documentation arising from the choice of legal vehicle.
  • Undertaking legal research and providing advice on general contract matters, including procurement and state aid.
  • Providing advice on corporate vehicle options and drafting associated documentation.
  • Demonstrating an understanding of relevant local authority governance considerations, including Contract Standing Orders, financial regulations, and committee procedures.
  • Working with minimal supervision and confidently supervising other more junior staff within the team.
