Job Summary

Midlothian Council is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Team Leader to lead our Lighting service delivery team. As a key member of our Road Operations and Network team, you will be responsible for managing lighting projects, including street lighting renewals, LED upgrades, signals, information signs, and CCTV.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lighting projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery
  • Lead a team of lighting engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent customer service
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize lighting projects, ensuring alignment with council objectives
  • Manage and maintain lighting infrastructure, including street lighting, signals, and CCTV systems
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve lighting services, including energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives

Requirements

  • Proven experience in leading lighting projects, with a strong understanding of lighting infrastructure and operations
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and prioritize projects
  • IT literate, with experience in using Microsoft software packages and service-specific software applications
  • A full current UK driving license, with the ability to work outdoors in various locations and terrain
